Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1979:
Gatunek rozpowszechniony głównie w południowej części Palearktyki, w Europie występujący od krajów śródziemnomorskich do Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii. Zasiedla zarówno obszary nizinne jak i wysokogórskie. Znajdowany w nawozie, pod gnijącymi szczątkami roślinnymi, padliną, w grzybach, na wyciekającym soku z drzew, niekiedy w podziemnych gniazdach różnych ssaków.
