Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1979:
Rozmieszczenie ogólne gatunku poznane niedostatecznie. Znany dotychczas z nielicznych stanowisk w południowej Szwecji, w Danii, Szlezwik-Holsztynie, Brandenburgii, Polsce i Czechosłowacji. Na pewno szerzej rozmieszczony, lecz z uwagi na podobieństwo nie odróżniany od Stenus (Hypostenus) tarsalis Ljungh. W Polsce wykazany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk, na ogół rzadko i pojedynczo spotykany, jedynie liczniej na nizinie Mazowieckiej. Występuje na pobrzeżach wód i na łąkach wilgotnych pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi.
