Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w środkowej i północnej Europie, w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe; wszędzie bardzo rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany. W Polsce znany z nielicznych miejscowości tylko w pięciu krainach. Bionomia tego chrząszcza nie jest znana — w Finlandii znajdowano go pod korą świerków i brzóz, zwłaszcza pni uszkodzonych przez pożar, niekiedy poławiano go w chodnikach korników.
