Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej i środkowej Europie oraz w południowej części Skandynawii. Ogólnie uważany za gatunek halofilny; najczęściej występuje w strefie nadmorskiej, choć wykazywany również z terenów śródlądowych pozbawionych słonawisk. Żyje głównie w zatoczkach morskich jak również kałużach i bajorach. Wykazany mylnie z wód słodkich w okolicy Łodzi przez K. Hocha (1960) jakoby na podstawie doniesienia E. Trandy (1959), odnośne jednak dane z pracy tego autora pochodzą z Rogoźna pow. Łowicz i odnoszą się tylko do Haliplus (Haliplinus) fluviatilis Aubé i Haliplus (Neohaliplus) lineatocollis (Marsh.).
