Burakowski et al. 1976:

Pospolity gatunek palearktyczny, w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. W Polsce znany prawie z całego obszaru. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i górskich, sięgając do regla górnego, głównie w głębszych zbiornikach wodnych zwłaszcza na torfowiskach oraz zbiornikach o dnie gliniasto-piaszczystym.
