Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony w Palearktyce.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z wiązów — Ulmus laevis Poll., wyjątkowo Ulmus campestris L. i Ulmus scabra Mill., na korzenie różnych turzyc (Carex L. sp.). Na wiązach powoduje powstawanie charakterystycznych wyrośli.
