Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1978:
Gatunek rzadko i sporadycznie notowany, znany z południowej Europy, południowej części środkowej Europy oraz z Kaukazu. W Polsce jest nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykanym chrząszczem, wykazanym tylko ze Śląska. Jest reliktem lasów pierwotnych, prowadzi skryty sposób życia głęboko w murszu dziuplastych drzew liściastych w sąsiedztwie gniazd mrówek Lasius brunneus (Latr.) i Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.).
