Taxon description

Heintze 1990:

Motyl pojawia się w dwu pokoleniach od V do VIII. Drugie pokolenie mniej liczne. Białawo uwłosione gąsienice pospolicie występują od VII do IX na brzozach, rzadziej na topolach, wierzbach, osikach, lipach i in. Zimują poczwarki w oprzędach. Gąsienice po ostatniej lince tracą czarne pędzelki na grzbietowej stronie ciała.
