Taxon description

Heintze 1990:

Jeden z najpospolitszych gatunków motyli krajowych. Czas lotu od IV do IX w dwu niewyraźnie oddzielających się pokoleniach. Gąsienice występują licznie na wielu roślinach zielnych i krzewach, jak szczaw, pokrzywa, malina, wierzba i in. Zimują poczwarki w ciemnoszarych, cienkich i mocnych oprzędach między zeschłymi liśćmi nad ziemią.
