Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1974:
Podgatunek nominatywny obejmuje swym zasięgiem Europę Środkową. Drugi podgatunek, Acupalpus (Acupalpus) brunnipes atratus Dej., zamieszkuje Europę południową, Azory i Kaukaz. W Polsce występuje forma nominatywna na obszarze nizinnym, z gór nie notowana. Omyłkowo wykazany przez A. Lüllwitza (1916) z okolic Koszalina na podstawie błędnego oznaczenia Acupalpus (Acupalpus) dorsalis (Fabr.) (B. Burakowski 1957b). Żyje na wilgotnych, otwartych terenach, szczególnie na nasłonecznionych glebach gliniastych, skąpo porośniętych niską roślinnością, wykazywany również z torfowisk.
