Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1985:

Gatunek rozmieszczony w zachodniej, środkowej i południowej części Europy, na wschód docierający do lasostepów Ukrainy. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju, przy czym większość danych o rozmieszczeniu jest oparta na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat, toteż wymagają one potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Występuje na obszarach nizinnych i w dolinach rzecznych na podgórzach do wysokości około 700 m n.p.m. Larwy żyją w glebie gliniastej i próchnicznej na terenach otwartych oraz słabo zadrzewionych, jak parki, ogrody, przydroża i pobrzeża lasu; notowane są ponadto z pól uprawnych, gdzie niekiedy występują licznie. Postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się w czerwcu i przeżywają do lipca.
