Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w krajach śródziemnomorskich, zachodniej części Europy oraz w południowej części środkowej Europy, ponadto notowany z Madery, Azorów, Wysp Kanaryjskich oraz wschodniej i południowej części Afryki. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadki, raz tylko złowiony przed przeszło 70 laty. Wymagania środowiskowe nie znane. Znajdowany pod opadłymi liśćmi, kamieniami, w gniazdach kretów oraz w mrowiskach Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.).
