Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1974:
Szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek euro-syberyjski notowany również z Kaukazu oraz ze wschodnich wybrzeży Kanady, gdzie w pobliżu portów i miast był zawleczony z balastem okrętowym, występuje w prawie całej Europie od północnej Hiszpanii, środkowych Włoch, Grecji aż daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. Zasiedla wilgotne gleby różnych typów, unikając jednak czysto-piaszczystych. Najczęściej spotykany na wilgotnych łąkach z bogatą roślinnością zielną, nawet gęsto i wysoko rosnącą, obserwowano osobniki wyżerające jeszcze nie całkowicie dojrzałe nasiona różnych roślin łąkowych.
