Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1978:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w prawie całej Europie, na północy sięgający do koła polarnego. Na ogół wszędzie rzadko i pojedynczo poławiany. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk, na których, z wyjątkiem Śląska Górnego, od przeszło 50 lat powtórnie nie notowany. W ciągu dnia prowadzi skryty sposób życia, ukazując się wieczorem. Znajdowany pod zapleśniałą korą, pod opadłym igliwiem i listowiem oraz przy wyciekającym soku z drzew.
