Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1987:

Gatunek europejski o borealno-górskim charakterze występowania, wykazywany z całej Fennoskandii, Karelii, obszaru północnego europejskiej części ZSRR oraz z Sudetów, Beskidów, Tatr i Karpat. W Polsce pewne stanowiska leżą w południowych, górzystych obszarach, dane o występowaniu na terenie nizinnym, w Dębnie koło Wołowa budzą wątpliwości. Zasiedla tereny górzyste docierając do strefy hal ponad górną granicą lasu. Bionomia tego gatunku poznana jest słabo. W Szwecji młode chrząszcze znajdowano na początku lipca w komorach poczwarkowych zbudowanych przez larwy w zmurszałej brzozie; na Słowacji chrząszcze poławiano na kwiatach krwawnika pospolitego — Achillea millefolium L. i jarzębiny — Sorbus aucuparia L.
