Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie (prócz Wysp Brytyjskich i północnych prowincji Fennoskandii), wykazywany ponadto z Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i obszarów wokół Morza Kaspijskiego. W Polsce znany z nielicznych miejscowości w różnych częściach kraju. Rozwój larwalny odbywa w martwym drewnie buków i brzóz. Pojaw postaci dojrzałych zaczyna się w maju i trwa do lipca; chrząszcze poławiano na kwiatach derenia, głogu, dzikiego bzu oraz roślin baldaszkowatych.
