Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozmieszczony w Europie południowej, na północ docierający do południowej części Francji, Bawarii, południowych Moraw, Słowacji i Węgier. Ogólnikowo, bez podania miejscowości, wykazany ze Śląska na podstawie jednego okazu muzealnego przez J. Obenbergera (1913, 1917) i później przez innych autorów — w występowanie na tym obszarze wątpi A. Horion (1955). Gatunek polifagiczny; larwy notowano z dębu, czereśni, gruszy, kasztana, sumaka i innych drzew. Żeruje w gałęziach i młodych pniach. Postać dojrzała jest poławiana od maja do wczesnej jesieni na kwitnących roślinach, zwłaszcza z rodziny złożonych i baldaszkowatych.
