Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony prawie w całej Europie oprócz obszarów północnych Fennoskandii, na wschód sięgający po Syberię. W Polsce występuje od Bałtyku aż po Tatry, nie notowany jednak jeszcze z niektórych krain. Postacie dojrzałe spotykane na drzewach, iglastych i liściastych. Larwy drapieżne, żerują na czerwcach (Coccoidea), gatunkach z rodziny tarczników (Diaspididae), żyjących na drzewach liściastych i iglastych, zwłaszcza na świerku.
