Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w Europie środkowej i północnej aż do najdalszych krańców oraz w tajdze syberyjskiej, w Europie południowej tylko w chłodnych, górskich rejonach leśnych; notowany także z Kaukazu i jako zawleczony do Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce, choć brak danych z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Na ogół rzadko i sporadycznie poławiany wczesną wiosną lub późną jesienią, przeważnie na terenach leśnych w ekskrementach dzikich zwierząt, zwłaszcza jeleni i saren, rzadziej na pastwiskach w odchodach krów, koni i owiec.
