Gatunek europejski o niedostatecznie poznanym rozsiedleniu, notowany dotychczas z Francji, Szwajcarii, RFN, Słowacji i Polski. Wszędzie bardzo rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany. Z Polski wykazywany na podstawie wzmianki z końca ubiegłego wieku. Bionomia i wymagania środowiskowe nie są znane. P. Osterloff znalazł dwa osobniki tego chrząszcza w lutym wśród mchu na pniu dębu.
