Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony od Szwajcarii po Azję Środkową. W Europie sięga na północ po południowe Niemcy i Czechosłowację. W Polsce gatunek znany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w czterech krainach, jednak zasiedlenie jego w naszym kraju wymaga potwierdzenia. Doniesienia F. Osterloffa i Sz. Tenenbauma są niewiarygodne, a informacja J. Bartkowskiej o występowaniu w Ogrodzie Botanicznym we Wrocławiu na pewno oparta jest na błędnym oznaczeniu. Obecnie omawianego gatunku na tym stanowisku nie ma (M. Wanat*). Żyje na prawoślazie ogrodowym — Althaea rosea L. i prawoślazie lekarskim — Althaea officinalis L. Larwa żeruje w nasionach.
