Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie środkową część Europy, notowany ponadto z nielicznych stanowisk na Wyspach Brytyjskich i w południowej części Fennoskandii. W Polsce wykazywany z nielicznych miejscowości tylko w południowej części kraju. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i niższe partie górskie. Łowiony na grzybach, zwłaszcza gąsówce nagiej — Lepista nudum (Bull. ex Fr.) W. G. Smith i na gatunkach z rodzaju lejkówka — Clitocybe (Fr.) Quél. Niekiedy znajdowany również w ściółce leśnej.
