Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1978:

Gatunek rozsiedlony w zachodniej i środkowej Europie, na południe docierający do północnych Włoch, Siedmiogrodu i Grecji, wykazany ponadto z Wysp Brytyjskich i dwu południowych prowincji Szwecji. Z Polski notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk zarówno na północy, jak i na południu kraju. Zamieszkuje przeważnie pierwotna lasy liściaste. Żyje w gniazdach mrówek Lasius brunneus (Latr.), w dziuplastych drzewach i starych pieńkach, pod korą i wśród mchów.
