Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i wschodnią Europę, notowany również z Kaukazu i zachodniej Syberii. Z uwagi na środowisko, jakie zajmuje omawiany gatunek, jest on bardzo rzadko znajdowany. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk i to tylko na Śląsku. Zamieszkuje gniazda podziemne małych gryzoni. Poławiany zwłaszcza w gniazdach opuszczonych lub w takich, w których znajdowały się martwe zwierzęta. Poza tym spotykany w norach królików, lisów, pod gnijącą roślinnością oraz butwiejącą słomą w stajniach.
