Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie środkową i północną Europę, w Fennoskandii docierający do koła podbiegunowego, a na południu swego areału do północnych Włoch, Bośni, Hercegowiny i Siedmiogrodu. Rozmieszczenie w Polsce bardzo słabo zbadane; notowany z pojedynczych rozproszonych stanowisk tylko w ośmiu krainach. Łowiony głównie na terenach górzystych, gdzie dociera do strefy subalpejskiej; występuje też na nizinach w lasach pierwotnych. Spotykany w butwiejących pniach z wilgotną przegrzybiałą korą, zwłaszcza na powalonych drzewach, porośniętych mchami i pokrytych opadłym listowiem, w czerwonobrunatnym murszu pni i pniaków drzew liściastych, rzadziej sosen i świerków.
