Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek eurosyberyjski, rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie prócz Półwyspu Iberyjskiego i południowej Francji; w Fennoskandii sięga daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. W Polsce, choć nie znany jeszcze ze wszystkich, krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Chrząszcz grzybolubny, znajdowany w hubach, zwłaszcza z rodzaju żagiew — Polyporus (Mich.) Fe. i gmatwek Daedalea (Pers.) Fr, oraz w grzybach naziemnych z rodzajów: muchomór — Amanita (Pers.) Hooker, borowik — Boletus (Dill.) Fr. i mleczaj Lactarius (Fr.) S.F. Gray. Poza tym spotykany w starych, przegrzybiałych pniach i pieńkach, wśród wiązek chrustu i w opadłym listowiu w lasach bukowych, a także wśród rozłogów wrzosu.
