Gatunek północnoafrykański, niekiedy z nasionami zawlekany na inne obszary. W Polsce stosunkowo niedawno wykazany jako zawleczony do Krakowa. Dotychczasowe dane nie upoważniają do zaliczenia tego gatunku w poczet chrząszczy krajowych.
