Taxon description
Chrząszcz o niedostatecznie poznanym rozsiedleniu, gdyż do niedawna często był mylony z innymi pokrewnymi gatunkami. Dotychczas znane są jego stanowiska w krajach środkowej Europy, we Francji, w północnych Włoszech i europejskiej części ZSRR. W Polsce wykazywany z 9 południowych krain, jedyna tylko wzmianka sprzed przeszło stu lat o występowaniu na Mazurach wymaga potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Rozwój larwalny odbywa w nasionach różnych gatunków sparcet — Onobrychis Mill. i lucern — Medicago L.
