Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986a:

Gatunek palearktyczny, rozpowszechniony w całej niemal Europie, na północ docierający do Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii oraz Karelii. W Polsce występuje od Bałtyku aż po Tatry, nie notowany jest jednak jeszcze z niektórych krain. Postacie dojrzałe odżywiają się pyłkiem kwiatów różnych roślin, zwłaszcza różowatych (Rosaceae), jaskrowatych (Ranunculaceae) i złożonych (Compositae). Często spotykany na mniszku pospolitym — Taraxacum officinale Web. i jaskrze rozłogowym — Ranunculus repens L. Larwy odbywają rozwój wewnątrz kwiatów kuklika pospolitego — Geum urbanum L.
