Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowej części Fennoskandii przez całą środkową i południową Europę aż do północnej Afryki, wykazany nadto z Kaukazu. Występuje głównie na terenach nizinnych i pagórkowatych pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, zwłaszcza w pryzmach kompostu i nawozu, stogach siana i stertach słomy.
