Taxon description
Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozsiedleniu, gdyż do niedawna był uważany za odmianę Apion (C.) seniculus Kirby. Dotychczas był wykazywany z Danii, Szwecji, Finlandii, Karelii, Moskwy, Niemiec, Czecho-Słowacji, Mołdawii, Austrii i Jugosławii. Występuje na wilgotnych łąkach, przydrożach i w rowach. Żyje na koniczynie białoróżowej — Trifolium hybridum L. Larwy żerują w łodygach.
