Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w Palearktyce, w Europie pospolity w północnej części kontynentu, notowany również z Ameryki Północnej. Znajdowany na szlamistych pobrzeżach wód, pod butwiejącymi resztkami roślinnymi, w ekskrementach bydlęcych.
