Taxon description
Mało znany gatunek, chociaż od jego opisu upłynęło blisko 70 lat. Notowany dotychczas z Bukowiny, zachodniego Podola i okolic Przemyśla. W Polsce należy do wielkich rzadkości faunistycznych — jest znany dotychczas tylko z dwóch krain. Biologia tego ryjkowca nie jest znana. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano na rukiewniku wschodnim — Bunias orientalis L., roślinie rosnącej na polach uprawnych, przydrożach, łąkach, miejscach ruderalnych, miedzach i ugorach. Imagines pojawiają się w maju i na początku czerwca (Smreczyński 1974). Ryjkowiec ten ma uwstecznione skrzydła i nie lata. J. Szypula i M. Wanat poławiali go masowo na szczytach pędów i zawiązkach kwiatostanów Bunias orientalis L. w pierwszych dniach maja, gdy rośliny miały zaledwie 20-40 cm wysokości.
