Taxon description
Rozsiedlenie tego gatunku jest słabo poznane; notowano go z nielicznych stanowisk w Polsce, Słowacji, Brandenburgii, Nadrenii i wschodniej Francji. W Polsce chowacz ten należy do rzadkości faunistycznych; znany jest dotychczas tylko z okolic Krakowa i Przemyśla. Żyje wyłącznie na pieprzycy polnej — Lepidium campestre (L.) R. Br., roślinie rosnącej na gliniastych polach i w rowach. Larwa żeruje w ogonkach liściowych i w dolnych częściach łodygi, na których powoduje owalne wyrosła.
