Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1991:
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Palearktyce od wybrzeży zachodnich Europy i Afryki Północnej do Syberii Wschodniej i Japonii; w Fennoskandii sięga daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. W Polsce chrząszcz pospolity, występujący na całym obszarze, z wielu krain jednak nie notowany. Żeruje na różnych trawach — Gramineae. Wykazywany jako szkodnik zbóż, zwłaszcza pszenicy jarej i jęczmienia. Postacie dojrzałe obgryzają liście i wierzchołki wschodzących źdźbeł, a larwy żerują w dolnej części rośliny.
