Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony w zachodniej Palearktyce po jezioro Bajkał i Mongolię Środkową. Dalej na wschód występuje już podgatunek nominatywny.
Podgatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje w niewielkich koloniach na spodniej stronie liści wierzby białej — Salix alba L., wierzby migdałowej — Salix amygdalina L. i wierzby południowej — Salix babylonica L. Niekiedy odwiedzany przez mrówki.
