Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w Palearktyce od Maroka i Wysp Brytyjskich aż po Japonię, wkraczający również w północne części Obszaru Orientalnego. Łowiony także na Wzgórzach Trzebnickich (Stary Wołów) i Sudetach Wschodnich (Kletno) (L. BOROWIEC*). Żeruje na liściach różnych gatunków wierzb i topól, niekiedy wyrządzając poważne szkody.
