Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1987:

Gatunek europejski, rozprzestrzeniony od krajów śródziemnomorskich aż do południowych części Wysp Brytyjskich, Norwegii i Szwecji oraz wschodnich krajów nadbałtyckich. W Polsce, choć nie znany jeszcze z niektórych krajów, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze. Spotykany w żerowiskach korników i pod lekko odstającą korą grubych pni i pieńków głównie drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza dębów, brzóz, buków i olch; bardzo rzadko również świerków. Postacie dojrzałe i larwy żerują w chodnikach korników z rodzajów rozwiertek — Xyleborus Eichh. i drwalnik — Trypodendron Steph.
