Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Gatunek występujący głównie w południowej i środkowej części Europy, wykazywany ponadto z Danii, południowych części Szwecji i Finlandii oraz z Karelii. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany z pojedynczych stanowisk w czterech krainach, przy czym wzmianki o jego występowaniu na Pojezierzu Mazurskim i Wyżynie Małopolskiej opierają się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat, dlatego też wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Zamieszkuje suche łąki, murawy, nasłonecznione zbocza, miejsca ruderalne, pobrzeża lasów, poręby i widne zarośla. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano w maju-sierpniu. Larwy żerują w korzeniach i szyi korzeniowej złocienia właściwego — Chrysanthemum leucanthemum L.
