Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1991:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w Europie od strefy roślinności śródziemnomorskiej po Francję, Danię, południową Szwecję i Finlandię oraz Karelię. W Polsce znany tylko z dziewięciu krain, na ogół chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, tylko w okolicy Warszawy liczniej poławiany. Żeruje na mierznicy czarnej — Ballota nigra L., poławiano go też na różnych gatunkach czyśćców — Stachys L.
