Taxon description
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem prawie całą Europę z wyjątkiem obszarów północnych Fennoskandii, notowany nadto z Azji Mniejszej, Kaukazu i Kazachstanu. W Polsce występuje w środkowej i południowej części kraju, spotykany niezbyt często na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich. Zasiedla miejsca ruderalne, ugory, pobrzeża dróg i suche zbocza. Żyje na rumianku pospolitym — Matricaria chamomilla L., marunie bezwonnej — Tripleurospermum inodorum (L.) Schultz — Bip., rumianie polnym — Anthemis arvensis L. i rumianie żółtym — A. tinctoria L. Larwa odbywa rozwój w dolnej części łodygi i szyi korzeniowej, drąży chodniki długości około 2-4 cm.
