Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący obszary górzyste we wschodniej części Europy Środkowej, W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk w Karpatach, przy czym według S. Smreczyńskiego (1955c) wykazany z okolicy Przemyśla przez T. Trellę (1934) na podstawie okazu oznaczonego jako O. niger a. villosopunciatus Gyll. Poławiany na różnych drzewach i krzewach oraz szczawiach — Rumex L., które przypuszczalnie mogą być jego roślinami żywicielskimi.
