Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Średniogórza Niemieckiego i Alp przez Sudety i Karpaty aż po obszary górzyste w północno-zachodniej części Półwyspu Bałkańskiego; w obszarze swego zasięgu tworzy liczne formy lokalne. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, znany z nielicznych stanowisk w tylko siedmiu krainach. Występuje na łąkach, pobrzeżach potoków, w lasach i zaroślach. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano na lepiężniku białym — Petasites albus (L.) Gaertn., podbiale pospolitym — Tussilago farfara L., raierznicy czarnej — Ballota nigra L. i szałwi łąkowej — Salvia pratensis L. Larwy obserwowano na jasnotach — Lamium. L. i szałwi lepkiej — Salvia glutinosa L.; przed przepoczwarczeniem wytwarzają żółtobiały, siateczkowany kokon.
