Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek europejski, rozsiedlony od zachodniej Francji i wschodniej Szwajcarii przez południowe obszary Europy Środkowej aż po Rumunię. W Polsce pewne jego stanowiska leżą w strefie łuku karpackiego. Dawne wzmianki sprzed przeszło stu lat o występowaniu tego chrząszcza w Sudetach nie znalazły później potwierdzenia w spisie chrząszczy śląskich (Gerhardt 1910). Zamieszkuje obszary górskie od regla dolnego po kosówkę — łąki, hale, zarośla i ziołorośla na pobrzeżach potoków. Żyje na różnych roślinach zielnych, jak szczaw alpejski — Rumex alpinus L., omieg górski — Doronicum austriacum Jacq., tojad mocny — Aconitum callibotryon Rchb. i gwiazdnica gajowa — Stellaria nemorum L.
