Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1974:
Pospolity, szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek w prawie całej Europie i Syberii, w Fennoskandii przekracza koło podbiegunowe, a na Syberii sięga do Amuru. Występuje w całej Polsce, na ogół jednak rzadko poławiany ze względu na jego sposób życia na drzewach zarówno iglastych jak i liściastych. W okresie wegetacyjnym, jak większość nadrzewnych gatunków z rodzaju Dromius Bon., przebywa wysoko w koronach drzew, gdzie jest trudno dostępny. Późną jesienią, w zimie i wczesną wiosną spotykany nieraz licznie na zimowiskach pod odstającą korą i pod mchem przy podstawie pni.
