Taxon description
Szeroko rozsiedlony gatunek w całej Europie oraz Azji Północnej po Koreę i Japonię. Drzewożerek jednożerny jest w Polsce rozpowszechniony na całym niżu i podgórzach, w górach spotykany lokalnie. Głównym żywicielem jest świerk, rzadziej sosna, jodła, modrzew, kosodrzewina, limba i wejmutka. Opada zwykle pniaki i leżaninę. Chodnik macierzysty najczęściej jednoramienny, podłużny, nieznacznie zaznaczony w drewnie.
