Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek występujący prawie w całej Europie z wyjątkiem północnej Fennoskandii i północnej europejskiej części ZSRR, nadto notowany z czarnomorskiego pobrzeża Kaukazu. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie poławiany. Żyje w silnie zarośniętych, stojących lub wolno płynących wodach o dnie mulistym lub torfiastym.
