Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w północnej i środkowej części Europy, sięgający na południe po Francję, środkowe Włochy, Grecję, Bułgarię i Ukraińską SRR, wykazywany ponadto z Japonii. W Polsce, prócz wyższych partii górskich, występuje w całym kraju w obrębie zasięgu świerka, nie jest jednak jeszcze notowany z niektórych krain, Zasiedla zarówno tereny nizinne, jak i górzyste. Larwa żyje w starych, opadłych na ziemię szyszkach świerka, rzadziej sosny, dlatego też gatunek ten nie jest uważany za szkodnika nasion. Przepoczwarczenie ma miejsce późnym latem lub na jesieni. Postać dojrzała przezimowuje i pojawia się na powierzchni od kwietnia do czerwca.
