Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w środkowej Europie, notowany ponadto z Danii, jednej południowej prowincji Szwecji, z Francji, środkowych Włoch i Siedmiogrodu, wszędzie na ogół bardzo rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko poławiany. Znajdowany w murszejącym drewnie starych i dziuplastych drzew w sąsiedztwie gniazd mrówek Lasius brunneus (Latr.), Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.) i Formica rufa L., niekiedy także wśród mchów i opadłych liści.
