Taxon description
Motyl dość pospolity, występuje pojedynczo w V i VI, w miejscach, gdzie rosną osiki, wierzby i topole. Gąsienice można spotkać najczęściej od VII do IX na niskich drzewkach osikowych. Przed przepoczwarczeniem się gąsienica zmienia barwę z zielonoliliowej na brudnobrązową i buduje z pogryzionych kawałeczków kory twardy oprzęd, w którym zimuje poczwarka.
